On September 4, 2024, the China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute (EPPEI) and the South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on technical exchanges and cooperation. Under the MoU, the two institutions will carry out technical exchanges, joint research, and technological innovation in areas such as power system planning, renewable energy integration, new-type energy storage, and advanced power technologies.

On September 5, 2024, Hu Ming, President of EPPEI, met with Dr. Titus Mathe, CEO of SANEDI, during his visit to China. They held in-depth discussions on cooperation in energy and power transition planning, power technology innovation research, and other related areas. Jiang Shihong, Vice President of EPPEI, attended the meeting.
